Campfire Croissants

Ooh, they’re a favourite, loved by everyone! They’re super versatile, have a tonne of options for sweet or savoury and take very little time to prepare and cook. The longest thing is probably getting your campfire up to cooking temperature! If you’re doing them at home, pop the oven on now, this won’t take long…

You’ll need:

  • Enough croissants for everyone (plus enough for a second!)

  • Tin foil

  • Fillings….

    • Nutella

    • Mini marshmallows

    • Banana

    • Apple

    • Cinnamon sugar

    • Cheese

    • Chicken

    • Ham

    • Bacon

    • Actually… I’m just listing foods now. You can pretty much use anything you like!

  • A knife to cut things and a chopping board

  • Plate to eat them off

Get your campfire lit and up to cooking temperature. You should be cooking over hot coals not flames. Pre-heat your oven if you’re doing it in the oven.

Begin with slicing your croissant in half and placing it in the centre of a piece of tinfoil.

Fill it with whatever you’d like. This was a cold November day and this little one went with Nutella, marshmallows and a little extra Nutella.

Wrap up your croissant and pop it over your fire. It doesn’t take too long to cook if your fire is up to temperature. In the oven, maybe 5-10 minutes depending on your oven temperature.

Keep checking them and put them out when all your fillings are suitably warm, gooey or melted… yum!

Enjoy!
